What is ABC technology?

Aiko is the main promoter of ABC solar panel development and manufacturing. ABC stands for All Black Contact. It is a breakthrough technology which is revolutionizing solar panel efficiency. It achieves 100% full-area light absorption by eliminating the front-grid lines. Typically, non-cell areas account for approximately 6.5% of the total surface area of a module. Reducing this area increases the module's power output. AIKO has relocated the string connectors to the rear of the module, thereby increasing the light absorption area on the front by 1.1%. This innovative design significantly boosts the panel's efficiency, achieving market-leading individual cell efficiencies reaching 23%. The benefits of ABC technology extend beyond just efficiency. It enhances performance in low-light conditions and improves temperature coefficients (-0.26%/°C). 

Aiko’s ABC technology also boasts a sleek and very aesthetic design, especially with the “full-black” models that feature a uniform appearance without front contacts.
