Introducing the new adjustable balcony mount to maximize your energy savings
Based on customer demand, we’ve improved our balcony solar kit so you can save even more on your power bill. Our new adjustable balcony mount is specifically designed to optimize the tilt angle of your solar panels and make the most of the sun’s energy throughout the year.
The evolution of balcony mounts
In 2023 our very first balcony mount gave solar panels an angle of about 60 degrees. But the mount structure was not as easy to set up as we wanted. We then found a German supplier for an easier mount, Solar Hook, and launched a new balcony kit version with their mount.
Despite being easy to set up and very solid, the Solar Hook mount didn’t offer the possibility to set your panels at an angle. It was also complicated to ship, driving up costs. Limitations reduced the performance of the solar kit and, as a result, lowered the monthly savings you could achieve.
With Robinsun’s new mount for balconies, you can tilt your solar kit to the optimal angle, between 70° and 55°, allowing for maximum solar capture and a significant boost in system efficiency.
The mount will hold the panel firmly with hooks on both ends, and will be as easy to fix on a balcony railing as the Solar Hook model. It will be packaged in smaller boxes, making shipping easy and much cheaper. These cost savings are passed on to our customer, in the form of a lower cost of our balcony solar kits.
A design made for your balcony
The new mount fits most balconies thanks to its functional and adjustable design. The components attach easily to balcony railings, ensuring a stable and secure installation.
At the top, it includes two 5 cm circular hooks that allow you to easily hang the solar panel from the railing. The mount can also rotate around the railing to precisely adjust to any angle.
At the bottom, the mount features two adjustable telescopic legs that can extend up to 60 cm, allowing you to set the exact tilt you want for your installation.
In the center, two solid support bars cross the structure and are fixed to the solar panels. These bars distribute the force from the four mounting points directly onto them instead of the panel frame, increasing installation safety and helping extend the lifespan of your solar panels.
The entire system is stable, secure, and easy to install, with no need for construction work or special tools.
Note: In most European countries, building codes require balcony railings to be between 4 and 5 cm thick for safety and structural resistance.
This standard makes the new Robinsun mount compatible with the vast majority of residential balconies.
However, if for any reason your railing is thicker than 5 cm, we’ve added an extra component to our accessories section where you can purchase 7,5 cm hooks, fully compatible with the mount and ready to fit your railing.
A change that multiplies results
By adjusting the tilt of your panels, you can significantly increase your energy production, and therefore your savings.
For example, if we compare the performance of a plugin solar kit with two bifacial solar panels and an 800 W microinverter, installed in Spain or Portugal with south orientation, the difference is clear:
With a 90° angle (old mount): the system can produce around 1,200 kWh per year, which translates into about €300 in annual savings.
With a 20° angle (new mount): production can exceed 1,900 kWh per year, which means up to €475 in savings per year, equivalent to more than 50% extra savings.
In addition, depending on the season, you can easily adjust the tilt to further maximize your annual output. On our website, you can use the savings calculator to estimate how much you could save with the new balcony mount in your home.
Conclusion
Small changes can make a big difference. With Robinsun’s new adjustable Balcony kit, you have one more tool to get the most out of your plugin solar kit. More energy, more performance, more savings.
