We celebrate Earth Day 2024
Today we celebrate Earth Day, a global event organized since 1970 by Earthday.org. It was first organized as a response to a 1969 oil spill in Santa Barbara, California. On Earth Day 2024 we celebrate our planet and show our support for environmental protection. At Robinsun, our contribution to saving the planet comes with the decarbonization of the energy we use.
Why Earth Day matters
Earth Day, born out of a growing environmental consciousness in the late 1960s, emerged as a pivotal moment in history, catalyzing a global movement toward environmental awareness and action. Conceived by US Senator Gaylord Nelson, the inaugural Earth Day on April 22, 1970, saw millions of people across the United States unite in rallies, demonstrations, and educational events to advocate for environmental protection and sustainability. The aim was clear: to raise public awareness about pressing environmental issues, including pollution, deforestation, and species extinction, and to mobilize individuals and governments alike to take meaningful steps toward preserving and restoring our planet. Since then, Earth Day has transcended national boundaries, becoming an international phenomenon observed by billions worldwide. It serves as a poignant reminder of our collective responsibility to safeguard the Earth for present and future generations, inspiring diverse actions and initiatives aimed at fostering a healthier, more sustainable world. Officially 1 billion people in 193 nations have participated in Earth Day so far.
How Robinsun contributes
Environmental consciousness combined with the need for action are core instincts for us at Robinsun. We launched the company because we believe that a proven technology like solar, presented in an easy to use format like plug & play solar kits and sold directly to households at the cheapest price possible is a very direct way to have an immediate impact at scale on the carbon footprint of every household. The less grid energy you consume at home, the less fossil fuels your power company will have to consume to generate electricity. Your power company’s energy mix should be reported on your monthly bills. You can also check Our World in Data’s energy mix calculator, selecting your country of residence, to see the fossil fuel impact of the energy you consume from your grid. After decades of knowing about the impact of fossil fuels, and ongoing global public debate on the impact of global warming on our daily lives, it is shocking to see how much fossil fuels are still consumed every year for energy generation.
Contribute to our collective, global fight to stop fossil fuels, setting an example today. Install your solar kit, generate your own solar energy for self consumption and show to the world that you care about the planet, and do something for it. Today.
